What’s new?

Introducing Satchmo, another black Labrador. He was born on 17 November and came to live with us in January. As you can see from this photograph, with Il Moro in March, he is very handsome. He is also intelligent, funny, loving, and destructive as only a puppy can be.

He will be a terrific dog, if he survives that long! If he were a cat, he would already have lost one of his nine lives when he jumped into the fishpond and chewed through the electric cable feeding the fountain. Luckily the circuit shorted out immediately and he wasn’t hurt, but the fish had a bit of a surprise!

He is also a keen gardener but, unfortunately, doesn’t recognise the difference between plants and weeds. His first visit to the vet was to remove a rose thorn embedded in his tongue. He also enjoys rearranging shoes, socks, swimming goggles, spectacles, sponges (a bar of soap disappeared without trace once …), doormats, etc, and considers the garage his personal treasure store to be raided at will, flowerpots, gardening tools, binder twine – the list is endless. We realise how easy it must be to train the Andrex puppy!

Satchmo will never replace Flint; he has a different character, but is already making his own place as a member of the Aubelle team, and we’re sure you’ll enjoy him.
