How to get here
Montreuil-Bellay is 16 kms (10 miles) south of Saumur, about three hours' drive from Paris. Tours and Poitiers airports are both about an hour's drive away and have cheap flights from the UK, and during the summer you can fly from Southampton to Angers.
The fastest way to get here is by toll motorway as far as Saumur, taking the A85 spur from the A11 (Paris to Nantes) motorway.
From exit 3 (Saumur) follow the D347 road, signposted Poitiers, which takes you straight to Montreuil-Bellay.
Take the first signposted turn to the centre of Montreuil-Bellay. The road crosses the River Thouet, giving a splendid view of the château and collegiate church to the right.
The road rises and then follows a curve to the right, becoming the rue Nationale. La Maison Aubelle is on the right hand side, at number 310, on the corner of the rue du Docteur Gaudrez.
