If you have googled Maison Aubelle you will have seen that it is for sale. Don’t let this put off booking your holiday with us. The size of the property and the quality of its restoration means that the price is high, so a potential purchaser is not easy to find, especially as the good UK estate agents don’t operate in this area (which we find particularly odd as the Loire is so popular with the British). Even when we find a buyer, no sane purchaser would take over in mid-season, so your booking would be secure.
We are maintaining our high standards, but at our age we really need to retire. We love the area and have already bought a property to move to – after having restored it, naturally! – only six kilometres away, so as not to leave the many good friends we have made in and around Montreuil-Bellay. This has an enormous advantage to whoever takes over as we won’t be far away when queries arise.
