The apartments
When we planned the restoration and conversion of La
Maison Aubelle, uppermost in our minds was to be able to offer the type of
accommodation that we, as seasoned travellers, wanted for ourselves on
holiday, but rarely found.
There is a high standard of decoration and
furnishing: upholstered sofas, lined full-length curtains, plants,
pictures and ornaments throughout. All the apartments are light, with
nearly all windows overlooking the garden. There is television with five
French and various British and American channels. There are sophisticated
central heating and hot water systems. There is a ventilation system
throughout the house, ensuring that all the bathrooms and kitchens remain
fresh. Sound insulation has been incorporated into the walls and floors.
The kitchens are equipped with a multi-function oven,
including a grill, four electric hotplates, a microwave,
refrigerator with ice compartment, dishwasher, and plenty of cooking and
serving utensils.
All the bedrooms are carpeted or have rugs on wooden floors, both for comfort and
noise deadening. Most have a choice of king-size or twin beds with wooden
headboards, and all bedding is included in the rental price. There are
bedside lights so that you can read in bed.
All the bedrooms have en-suite bath or shower rooms
that deliver plenty of hot water, furniture to store your personal washing
things and electric sockets and good lighting, as well as being supplied
with hairdryers, towels and toiletries.
There is a laundry room for guests' use, with a washing machine, tumble dryer, double sink, drying rack, iron and ironing board.
